EVENT DESCRIPTION
Every veteran has a story. Every family has shared in the journey. On November 14, Ellis County will come together to recognize those stories and express our gratitude through the 26th Annual Ellis County Veterans Celebration.
This free community event features live music, recognition of veterans from across generations and military branches, and moments of reflection and remembrance. The 2026 theme, The Many Faces of Service, reminds us that service reaches beyond a single uniform or moment in history. As our nation marks its 250th anniversary, we will also look ahead and ask how the next generation can carry that spirit of service forward.
Veterans, military families, friends, and neighbors are all welcome. Bring a veteran you know, invite your family, and join us in showing that Ellis County remembers and appreciates those who served.
WHAT TO EXPECT

OUTDOOR MEMORIAL HONORS
After the indoor ceremony, guests are invited to gather at the Ellis County Veterans Memorial outside the Civic Center. The closing honors will include a wreath-laying ceremony, bagpipe music, a three-round rifle volley, and the playing of Taps, and the release of military messenger pigeons. We will also have a commemorative flyover, weather permitting. Please allow time to join us for this meaningful conclusion.
ABOUT THE CELEBRATION
